My name is Wesam Balousha, and I am a photojournalist and sound engineer from Gaza. Life here has become unbearable with constant bombings, destroyed homes, and relentless suffering. The thought of my children going through the horrors we experience daily—trauma even war veterans struggle with—is heartbreaking.
My family, including many children, has been forced to move from place to place multiple times, often without basic necessities. My mother, who has cancer, was evacuated just before the borders closed, making it difficult to even get the medication we need. My family is now separated, and I miss my mother deeply. There's no safety here—only fear and destruction. We're desperately trying to escape Gaza, hoping to find peace, but time is running out.
