How to Successfully Collect Donations When Delivering Pamphlets
Don’t just donate why not take an active role in helping a family and take on the OBG challenge.
Why not hand out pamphlets – take the time to share the story of the family you’ve selected. Build rapport with shop owners and business owners by briefly talking about the beneficiary. After the conversation, ask if you can leave some pamphlets at their counter, share them with their staff, or stick one on their window. You can also ask them to point out the pamphlet to their next customer and encourage them to donate. By building connections, remembering their names, and showing professionalism, you can increase the likelihood of receiving donations.
Download stickers and place them on bus stops, traffic lights, your car, lamp posts, and on your donation bucket when you’re out collecting donations.
Please feel free to send in your pictures through our website to show us the impact you are making for one of the OBG families in your community and how you are contributing by not only donating but sharing the story and encouraging those around you to donate.

Eman Alhaj Ali
My story
My name is Eman Alhaj Ali, a 22-year-old from Gaza. Despite surviving six wars, I earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Translation, showing my determination in difficult times.
Now, the current conflict has destroyed not only buildings but also dreams. The university where I planned to pursue further studies lies in ruins, reflecting the chaos around us.
My family—my parents and four younger siblings—are homeless and struggling. Our home is gone, and we face severe food shortages with no help in sight.
Even in this devastation, I’m determined to continue my education, but with Gaza’s schools in ruins, it’s impossible. We have no place to live or study. So, I ask for your help for my family to leave Gaza, find safety, and for me to complete my education abroad.
Your support would help me achieve my goals and ease my family’s suffering. My father’s income barely covers our needs, and my siblings lack basic nourishment. We endure makeshift shelters and illness, but your compassion can offer us hope.
Please donate big or small any amount can make a difference.
Thank youVideo

Hossam Jameel
My story
I’m Hossam, 27, from Gaza City. My family and I are starving in Al-Mawasi camp, and we urgently need help. We need funds for food, medicine, clean water, clothing, and firewood, especially with winter coming.
Extra funds will go toward visas to evacuate to Egypt when the border reopens, costing $5,000 per person.
Before the war, I supported my mother and two sisters as a driver, but on October 7, our lives changed forever. We fled our home and lost everything—our house, my car, and tragically, my married sister.
Now, we’re stuck in Al-Mawasi camp, living in overcrowded conditions without electricity or clean water. I’ve suffered injuries and health issues, and we’re barely surviving on one meal a day.
My family includes my mother Rana (49) and my sisters Dina (21) and Malak (17). Without help, we won’t survive. Please donate—your support can save us.

Ahmed Ghanim
My story
I am Ahmad Ghanim, a journalist urgently seeking help to evacuate my family from Gaza. We are trapped in a dangerous situation with ongoing bombardments causing immense suffering and destruction. Despite my deep connection to our homeland, witnessing the horrors and losing loved ones has made me desperate to find safety for my family.
The dire conditions in Gaza—widespread disease, starvation, and death—leave no safe haven, even if a ceasefire is declared. I canot bear to see my children or parents suffer further. I seek to evacuate my parents, siblings, their families, and my own wife and children to ensure their survival and well-being.
My family has endured immense loss, including the death of my brother in 2014, and I fear losing more. As a journalist, I am exhausted by reporting on suffering without being able to protect those I love. I am asking for your humanitarian support to help evacuate us and secure a chance for a safer future.
Your assistance would mean everything to us as we hope to return and rebuild once this crisis is over.
Thank you,
Ahmad GhanimVideo

Adli Mohammed Mostafa Abu Taha
My story
Adli Mohammed Mostafa Abu Taha, 33, has been a freelance journalist since 2013 and now works for Al Kuffeyeh Channel in Gaza. Since the war started, he’s contributed to Al-Jazeera, Al-Sharq, and CBC. He urgently needs to evacuate his family—his wife, 4-month-old son, and his mother, who has high blood pressure.
Adli and his family have survived six wars in Gaza, including the current 2023 conflict. He’s lost friends and relatives and was injured while reporting. His house was partially destroyed, and his son’s birth coincided with the war.
Adli’s mental health has worsened, and his family, especially his sick mother, is struggling. With a ground invasion looming, he needs help to evacuate to Egypt and ensure their safety. Any support is appreciated.

Khalid & Sondos
My story
Khalid, like 2 million other Gazans, has seen his life shattered by a war that’s lasted nearly six months.
Before the conflict, Khalid enjoyed a happy life with his wife Sondos and their two sons in a beachfront house in Gaza City. He also owned an accounting firm. Tragically, their home was destroyed in an airstrike, just months after they finished paying it off. With no insurance in Gaza, they’re now refugees in southern Gaza, living in a crowded, abandoned nursery with extended family.
Khalid’s business was also destroyed, leaving them without a home, job, or income. They lack the savings to leave Gaza or rebuild their life.
We’re launching this campaign to help Khalid and his family begin rebuilding or raise funds to evacuate to Egypt.Video

Whadi Yasser Qanoo
My story
Whadi Yasser Qanoo is an 18-year-old student who dreams of growing into a successful young man. Like others his age, he has hopes and ambitions, but his life drastically changed with the outbreak of war. Since the age of seven, Whadi has also been battling alopecia, which has required him to be in and out of hospitals, searching for a treatment. This struggle has deeply affected his confidence, leading to bouts of depression. His treatments are costly, and without regular donations, he often has to skip his medications, which worsens his condition. Reflecting on his hopes, he shared, “I was trying to be a successful young man. I want to be happy like others, graduate from high school, and make my mother proud.” Whadi once led a joyful life surrounded by friends, many of whom have tragically lost their lives to the war. The ongoing conflict in Palestine has severely hindered his dreams. Whadi’s deepest wish is to live in a safe environment, away from war, where he can continue his education and receive consistent treatment for his condition. Currently, Whadi lives in extremely difficult conditions, lacking basic necessities and relying on donations to get by. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in supporting Whadi and his family through this challenging time. Thank you.

Wesam Balousha
My story
My name is Wesam Balousha, and I am a photojournalist and sound engineer from Gaza. Life here has become unbearable with constant bombings, destroyed homes, and relentless suffering. The thought of my children going through the horrors we experience daily—trauma even war veterans struggle with—is heartbreaking.
My family, including many children, has been forced to move from place to place multiple times, often without basic necessities. My mother, who has cancer, was evacuated just before the borders closed, making it difficult to even get the medication we need. My family is now separated, and I miss my mother deeply. There’s no safety here—only fear and destruction. We’re desperately trying to escape Gaza, hoping to find peace, but time is running out.
We are asking for your help. If you cannot donate, please share our message. This could be our final plea.
Thank you for your support.
Wesam.

Saher Al Sendawi
My story
Saher Al Sendawi and his family of nine have been living in a tent for over a year. Four of his siblings are still children.
On October 11, 2023, Saher’s home in Remal was bombed, leaving them with nothing. Since then, they’ve been constantly moving, searching for safety. After days of sleeping outside, Saher built a makeshift tent in Rafah.
Life there was filled with hardship – bombings, disease, and a lack of basic necessities. When Rafah was invaded in May 2024, they fled to Deir Al Balah, only to find overcrowded camps. Now, they live by the sea, struggling daily as conditions worsen.
Despite everything, Saher’s sisters still smile, giving him hope. “As long as we are alive, we will keep hoping for better days,” he says.
Your support can help Saher’s family leave Gaza and start anew. Any donation, big or small, can make a difference.
Thank you for your kindness and solidarity.Video
